The third edition of the Food Food TV & BBC Good Food Awards were held on  at Mumbai’s beautiful JW Marriott. The scintillating evening saw the best of Indian culinary achievers being honored. Masterchef Ajay Chopra, who has spearheaded a revolution in the Indian culinary scene for over  years, was bestowed with the title ‘Celebrity Chef of the Year’.

Chef Ajay Chopra has had an impressive career since the time he began with the Cecil Oberoi in Shimla. From there, he went to on metamorphose the culinary experiences at JW Marriott Mumbai, The Westin Mumbai Garden City, Starwood and Mint Leaf, London.

Said a thrilled Chef Ajay Chopra, “To be recognised for your work is always momentous, but what makes this even more special is the people this is coming from. The jury comprises industry veterans that I’ve always admired, and my fellow winners are all people whose work I’ve been inspired by. I am humbled by the fact that our passion and toil to create extraordinary culinary experiences for our patrons, haven’t gone unnoticed. Chef Chopra is highly regarded for reinterpreting classic Indian cuisine for global consumption. He is currently touring the country with his ground-breaking concept of ‘Big Daddy Chef’ where he conducts community live kitchens with daddies, whipping up nutritious, delicious food for the entire family. Chopra adds this award to a glittering shelf that already holds Chef of the Year – 2013 by Starwood Hotels,

The Food Food TV & BBC Good Food Awards were co-hosted by both the brands. The jury comprised respected industry professionals such as Mr. Rajiv Kaul (President – Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts), Mr. AnuraagBhatnagaras multi-property VP, Luxury, India, Marriott International., Mr. Sanjeev Kapoor (Chef Extraordinair);  The other winners were , Lifetime achiever , Chef Vineet Bhatia,  Chef Vicky Ratnani as the most stylish chef of the year male, Chef Amrita Raichand as most stylish chef of the year female., Chef of the year to chef Vishal Atreya , Executive Chef at J W Marriot. . Winners were picked across an array of categories such as Best Asian Restaurant, Best Pastry shops etc
